CHilDBiRTH LESSONS iNSPiRED BY DR. BRADLEY

Childbirth is one of the most transformative experiences in life. At Our BirthRoom, we embrace the natural process of childbirth and believe that God’s design provides a beautiful path for continuing humanity.

We also believe how we are born matters. That’s why we’re here—to help families achieve empowering and fulfilling birth experiences. It starts with preparation, education, and support every step of the way.

Our course is designed to prepare you physically, mentally, and emotionally for the birth you’ve always envisioned. When I was pregnant for the first time, I researched every method I could find. I kept coming back to Dr. Bradley’s approach to natural childbirth, and it just made sense.

Here’s why we embrace his core principles—and how they can help you.

TRUSTiNG YOUR BODY’S WiSDOM

One of the most important lessons I learned was to trust my body’s ability to give birth.

These days, we often treat birth like a medical emergency instead of the natural process it’s designed to be. Yes, modern medicine has saved lives (and I’m grateful for that!), but sometimes it takes us further away from trusting our body’s wisdom.

In our course, we’ll help you reconnect with your body. We’ll guide you through exercises, techniques for optimal fetal positioning, and affirmations that build confidence. We also create a supportive space where you feel safe to share, ask, and learn.

When labor begins, you’ll know how to trust your body—and yourself.

PARTNER PARTiCiPATiON: THE BRADLEY METHOD’S TEAM APPROACH TO BiRTH

One of my favorite things about teaching students about childbirth is how it strengthens the couples bond and activates and engages partners in the process.

In many birth stories we’ve heard, partners may stand back and watch. But what if they were fully involved—helping, supporting, and making the experience even more meaningful?

We teach partners how to support you with techniques like counter-pressure, massage, and positional changes. You’ll work together to practice relaxation and breathing, so when labor gets intense, you’re truly a team. Learn more about having a birth coach in my blog post Do I Need a Birth Coach? Benefits for a Better Birth.

Don’t have a partner? No problem. A loved one or doula can fill this role beautifully.

RELAXATiON: THE BRADLEY METHOD’S KEY TO A CALM LABOR

Let’s talk about relaxation—because stress and tension during labor can make things harder.

In Our BirthRoom Academy, we’ll teach you how to stay calm and in control with techniques like deep abdominal breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and visualization. These tools can make a huge difference, helping you handle contractions more effectively and stay focused.

Think of it as your secret weapon for a smoother, calmer labor.

PROMOTiNG A HEALTHY PREGNANCY

A healthy pregnancy is the foundation for a great birth experience.

In our course, we cover the essentials, like:

  • Nutrition: Simple ways to fuel your body with the nutrients you and your baby need.

  • Exercise: Gentle routines that build strength, flexibility, and endurance for labor.

  • Avoiding Harmful Substances: What to steer clear of for a safer pregnancy.

Taking care of yourself now means you’ll feel more prepared and energized when it’s time to give birth.

KNOWLEDGE iS POWER: MAKiNG iNFORMED DECiSiONS

Medical interventions can be lifesaving, but they’re often overused.

We help you understand what’s necessary and what’s not, empowering you to advocate for yourself and avoid unnecessary interventions.

From the stages of labor to pain management options, we break everything down in clear terms. With this knowledge, you’ll feel confident making decisions for you and your baby.

Medical interventions can save lives, but they’re often overused. Our course emphasizes natural, unmedicated birth whenever possible. We help you distinguish between true emergencies and normal variations in labor, empowering you to avoid unnecessary interventions.

With our medical background, we explain the pros and cons of interventions like inductions, epidurals, and cesarean sections in clear terms. Understanding these options prepares you to advocate for the birth you want.

BREASTFEEDiNG AND BONDiNG

The journey doesn’t end at birth—your baby’s first days are just as important.

We’ll show you how to breastfeed confidently, overcome challenges, and prioritize skin-to-skin bonding. Those early moments lay the foundation for your baby’s health and your connection.

Starting strong makes all the difference.
